Lost your book rental return instructions?
If you’ve lost your return instructions and aren’t sure where to send your books try the following:
Search your email
Start by searching your email for the title or ISBN of your textbook. Chances are, your textbook rental company emailed you a receipt that includes the title of the book rented, return deadline, and return instructions (or a link to instructions). You can also search for the name of the rental company.

Be sure to check all your email accounts in the event you didn’t sign up with your primary account. Keep in mind that payment services such as PayPal and Stripe might have a different email account on record than your rental company, and your return instructions might have been sent to that address.
Check your bank and/or credit card statements
If you can’t find return instructions by searching your email, check your bank account or credit card statements for the name of your rental company. Simply scan your statements around the date of purchase – it was probably just before the start of the semester – until you find the name of the company. Then, you can look up the company’s return policy online or contact them for help.

• The maximum you can be charged for late returns is the price of the book at the time of rental less anything you’ve already paid

• Late or lost books could be charged the full replacement price less initial rental fee
Chegg
• Print a prepaid mailing label to return your textbooks
• If you miss the return deadline, Chegg may either charge for an extension or for the full purchase price of the book less your rental fee
• If you are charged the full purchase price, you have seven days to return your textbook for a refund minus an extension fee

• Call customer service to get a 15-day extension and avoid fees if you know your textbooks will be returned late
• If you miss the deadline and do not call, you will be charged an automatic 15-day extension; if you do not return your books by then you will be charged the price of your books and a restocking fee, less what you have already paid (though you have seven days after the charge to return your books and get a refund)

• If your textbooks aren’t returned by the 15-day extension deadline, you’ll be charged the full price of the book less fees paid

• Use the pink prepaid return envelope that came with your textbook to ship via USPS
• If you lose the pink envelope, you can print a prepaid label from your account page and use your own packaging
• All rentals have a 15-day grace period
• If your book is not received by the end of the deadline grace period, you will be charged a 15-day extension
• If the extension expires, you will be charged the full price of the book
